Another week another coffee review. This time I’m reviewing the Propeller Coffee Co. La Virgen. I feel like I’ve been slacking on posting some of these reviews so I will try my best to get back up to twice weekly. Anyways, this was the most recent bag I finished so it seems timely to do a review. Propeller Coffee is one of my favourite local coffee roasters in Toronto. Their cafe is located near Bloor and Landsdowne, but you can find their beans sold at a number of cafes around the city. If you haven’t tried them and are located near Toronto I would definitely give them a visit either in-person or virtually.
On to the coffee, the Propeller Coffee Co. La Virgen I would place in between those ultra-fruity berry-forward coffees and your typical darker roast. Personally got some dark cherry / floral notes out of this with a slight to moderate amount of acidity. A solid bean in my books.
I did receive this one as a gift so I don’t know the exact price – but Propeller Coffee is typically reasonably priced. Their single origin beans are typically priced around $19 to $21 CAD for a 12oz bag so I would imagine this should be in the same price range.
